X-Factor Lineup Slimming Down

After the first season of X-Factor finished, many people declared the show a flop based on executive producer and star Simon Cowell’s expectations of the show. With the show falling short of expectations some changes have been made.

The cast of FOX’s talent show is being cut by more than half. Steve Jones the shows host, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger are also not coming back to the show next year.

Jones tweeted about his departure the other day.

I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.—

The only remaining members of the original cast will be Simon Cowell & L.A. Reid. We’ll see where X-Factor goes from here. No word yet on who the new host or judges might be.

Facebook Comment World Record Attempt

In an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, Cathy Matthews and 106 others have been commenting on one post on Facebook since October of last year.

KTXL-TV in Sacramento is reporting that the post has a whopping 1,001,291 comments.Now that’s dedication.

Matthews and her friends have submitted the post to Guiness World Records and are still waiting to hear back.

The post was written on the wall of a Facebook Group for “Frontierville” fans. Apparently it i still gaining comments.

With 106 people participating each person has had to comment on the post roughtly 9,300 times.

Facebook changed their commenting system back in March of last year making this eaiser to do, but still 9,300 times is a lot for one person to do in three months.

The current record is held by Roberto Esposito, who set it on June 29, 2011, with 529,335 comments. Well I think it’s time for Roberto to move over, cause Cathy and her friends have crushed that record.

Bubble Soccer

A new game is sweeping the nation, well the nation of Norway anyway. Check out this video from the Norwegian show Golden Goal, where they aired a match between rival soccer squads Sarpsborg 08 and Fredrikstad.

What was the catch? They had to wear giant inflatable bubbles.

Lite’s Review Room – Snow Patrol

Repeating a common theme among many artists that scored their first big hit in the last decade, Snow Patrol decided that they needed to “up their game.” The five-man band with Irish and Scottish blood headed to California. Joshua Tree State Park to be specific. They spent their time writing, and then experienced many of Southern California’s recording studios (home and otherwise) to lay down their latest album “Fallen Empires.”

Snow Patrol – Live On…R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe helped lend lyrical inspiration, and the band is very pleased with the effort. Their latest hit, “Called Out in the Dark” is unmistakably Snow Patrol, yet the album contains many a different sound. Exactly as the band wanted. They’re currently touring Great Britain.

Gene Has Become His Father

Gene Gates has done what he said he would never do. His daughter Sophia had a few friends over and their playing had them running in and out of the house. The slamming doors finally got to Gene, and he uttered the very fatherly words, “You’re either inside or outside!” It was then Gene realizes he had turned into his dad. Is Gene’s story the truth, or is he today’s Big Fat Liar?

Julie DeHarty recently headed home for her 25th reunion. She saw many people that had changed over the years. There was the skinny kid from school who isn’t so skinny anymore because he lifts weights. He told Julie, “I have 25 inch thighs.”

David Rancken is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year. His neighbors had a huge Super Bowl party. There were tons of people and lots of cars parked on the street and, shockingly, in David’s driveway. Those cars he had towed so that he could leave for work in the morning.

Julie Gates and Gene went out for pizza on Monday night at a restaurant in Deep Ellum. Gene had enjoyed some wine with dinner, so he handed Julie the keys to be safe. Deep Ellum seems like a dark, scary place to be at night, but Julie couldn’t figure out why the streets all the way home were so dark. Turns out that she forgot to turn on the headlights.

Congrats to Wendy who identified David Rancken as the Big Fat Liar! Wendy won two tickets to see the farewell tour of “Riverdance” - coming to North Texas to perform at the Music Hall at Fair Park on February 7th and 8th!
